Many western people consider that if they've worked all their lives, they have a right to a suitable retirement, largely doing nothing, little or "as they please" - it's all expressed differently.
And it is all different for different people. That's the right to choose that expresses our freedoms. Those freedoms do not exist in many other parts of this great world of ours.
Have a listen to my discussion with Ann about why I plan never to retire.

Ann's plans in life changed dramatically and unexpectedly. But she had the resilience to adapt to her new life.
That included writing and publishing her book "Retire Well, Retire Happy" around which the podcast series is based. The book is available at all bookstores.
Regardless of our adult age, the quality of our food, the exercise we undertake, the ease of our working or non-working life and lifestyle... we all suffer from oxidative stress.
The nourishment we consume, the air we breath, the stresses of everyday living take their toll on the health and wellness of our body; and that impacts our mental well-being also.
Oxidative stress references a whole lot of activities occurring in our bodies, including some of the insidious effects of "free radicals" in our bio-systems. Detoxifying these is critical to our health and wellness overall.
Some identified consequences of oxidative stress in humans include: being involved in the development of ADHD, cancer, Parkinson's disease, Lafora disease, Alzheimer's disease, atherosclerosis, heart failure, myocardial infarction, fragile X syndrome, sickle-cell disease, lichen planus, vitiligo, autism, infection, chronic fatigue syndrome, and depression and seems to be characteristic of individuals with Asperger syndrome. Sometimes, some benefits can arise when used by the immune system to attack and kill pathogens. Short-term oxidative stress may also be important in prevention of aging by induction of a process named mitohormesis. [Info via Wikipedia 13-09-2018]
